Pasquale Perrone Filardi is Associate Professor of Cardiology and Director of the School of Cardiology at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. He has worked as Fogarty Fellow in the field of cardiovascular imaging at the US National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. He has served as Chairman of the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Computed Tomography, and as a member of the board of the Italian Society of Cardiology. He has been made a Scholar in Cardiology by the Italian Society of Cardiology for his scientific achievements. He graduated in Naples in 1983 and completed his medicine studies by specialising in cardiology and internal medicine. He has a PhD in cardiovascular pathophysiology from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy.
