Biography

Prof Nuno Cortez-Dias is a cardiologist at Santa Maria University Hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. He specialises in Cardiac Electrophysiology and has dedicated himself to the ablative treatment of arrhythmias, with a special interest in the mapping and ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.

He is a Professor of Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon and participates in several international Electrophysiology teaching programs.

Clinical and translational research activities have assumed a central role in his career. Particularly noteworthy are his translational research projects related to the role of microRNAs in the pathophysiology of atrial fibrillation, and as biomarkers of structural heart diseases. Since 2016, he has collaborated with the Cardio-Oncology Unit of Santa Maria Hospital, focusing on arrhythmic manifestations in cancer patients.
