Biography

Bruno Bezerra Lima, MD, PhD, FACC, is an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at Vanderbilt University's Division of Cardiology. He completed his MD and PhD in Brazil, followed by training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a Cardiology Fellowship at Emory University Hospital, and 2-year advanced cardiac imaging training at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he was chief fellow. Board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and several imaging modalities, his research centers on the brain-heart axis, integrating imaging, genomics, and pharmacology. His work includes developing a multiparametric stress CMR imaging for detecting cardiac allograft vasculopathy, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters to his name. As an FACC, he engages actively with the cardiology community, contributing to medical literature and professional societies.
