Dr Joseph E Marine is currently the Vice-Director of Operations in the Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in Baltimore, MD, US. He is also Chief of Cardiology for the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and has previously served as the Associate Director of Electrophysiology at the same institution.
Dr Marine graduated as Valedictorian from Williamsville South in 1982, and then went on to attend Yale University. He graduated in 1986 summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts in history. Dr Marine then attended the University of California at Berkeley and San Francisco, where he received a joint masters-medical doctorate degree in 1994. He then took residency training in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, then went on to specialise in cardiology and electrophysiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
In 2021, Dr Marine assumed the role as Chair of the American College of Cardiology Board of Governors
His clinical research interests center around the mechanisms and treatment of atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation.
Dr Marine is a member of the Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review editorial board.
