Antonio Colombo
Director of the Catheterisation Laboratory, Columbus Hospital in Milan, Italy

Antonio Colombo is Director of the Catheterisation Laboratory at the EMO Centro Cuore Columbus in Milan. Italy. Dr Colombo pioneered the concept of adequate stent deployment during coronary interventions, and he defined the role of intravascular ultrasound in this setting. Dr Colombo is very active in multiple medical societies including: American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Medical Association. Dr Colombo obtained his MD from University of Milan, School of Medicine in 1975.

George D Dangas
Director of Academic Affairs and Investigational Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Research Foundation

George D Dangas is Director of Academic Affairs and Investigational Pharmacology for the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. He is also the Associate Director of the Interventional Cardiology, Endovascular Therapy and Cardiovascular Research Fellowship Programs. Dr Dangas is a leading authority in advanced imaging of the heart and blood vessels, in preventing and dissolving thrombosis (clotting) in the coronary and peripheral arteries, as well as in the performance of non-surgical coronary and vascular interventions. Dr Dangas completed medical and postgraduate studies at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. 

Gregory J Dehmer
President, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions

Gregory J Dehmer is the current President of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is also Professor of Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine and Director of the Cardiology Division at the Scott & White Clinic in Temple, Texas. Dr Dehmer has served on the writing committees of several national guidelines, the Editorial Boards of several cardiology journals and has published more than 140 articles and book chapters. Dr Dehmer received his MD from the University of Wisconsin and completed his training in internal medicine and cardiology at the UT Health Science Center at Dallas.

Alice Jacobs
Immediate Past President, American Heart Association

Alice K Jacobs, is the Immediate Past President of the American Heart Association and Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Interventional Cardiology at Boston Medical Center. Currently, Dr Jacobs is Vice-Chair of the ACC/AHA Task Force on Practice Guidelines and was recently elected as a Council member of the Association of University Cardiologists. She is also a past member of the American Board of Internal Medicine Interventional Cardiology Test Committee. Dr JacobsÔÇÖ major research interest is in coronary revascularisation strategies.

Gary S Mintz
Director of Publications & Editorial Services, Cardiovascular Research Foundation

Gary S Mintz is Director of Publications and Editorial Services at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation and is Medical Director and Editor-in-Chief of tctmd.com. He is a pioneer and a recognised authority in the field of intravascular ultrasound. Dr Mintz is the author of over 550 manuscripts, 500 abstracts, 50 book chapters, and the single-authored text Intracoronary Ultrasound. His prior university employment included Professor of Medicine at the Likoff Cardiovascular Institute. Dr Mintz completed medical school, internship and residency, and his cardiology fellowship at Hahnemann Medical College and Hahnemann University Hospital.

Horst Sievert
Chairman Interventional Cardiology Section, International Academy of Cardiology

Horst Sievert is the Director of the CardioVascular Center Frankfurt, Sankt Katharinen, and the Department of Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Vascular Medicine of the Sankt Katharinen Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. He is also an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine/ Cardiology at the University of Frankfurt. He has been the principal investigtor of a number of clinical trials and has authored more than 500 manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Sievert is Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology among others. Dr Sievert completed his MD at the University of Frankfurt, Germany
