[INFOGRAPHIC] A Statistical Comparison of TAVR vs SAVR based on PARTNER Trial Results

In recent years, the studies comparing surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) have raised important questions as to which method to follow in the treatment for severe aortic stenosis in patients at high surgical risk.

As of today, TAVR has become an established and safe method that can be superior to SAVR at preventing death, stroke, or rehospitalisation in low surgical risk patients. To better understand the corresponding outcomes for both TAVR and SAVR in different patient risk-populations, scroll down to take a look at the infographic below.

For extended knowledge, we invite you to watch Dr. Steven Yakubov’s interview regarding the SURTAVI trial; a discussion of 1-year outcomes of TAVR vs SAVR in patients at intermediate surgical risk.
