COVID-19 and diabetes mellitus: from pathophysiology to clinical management


COVID-19 causes difficulties in glycaemic control, increases thromboembolism risk and is more likely to induce cardiorespiratory failure in people with diabetes, contributing to their poor prognosis in the pandemic.
