Biography

Michal Tendera is Professor and Chair of Cardiology at the Upper-Silesian Cardiac Center, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. He trained at Silesian School of Medicine in Katowice (Poland) and at Vanderbilt University, Nashville (USA).

Professor Tendera served as President of the Polish Cardiac Society (1995-1998) and of the European Society of Cardiology (2004-2006) and is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and of the American College of Cardiology since 1991. Professor Tendera is a member of the Editorial Boards of several cardiology journals, e.g. European Heart Journal and Polish Heart Journal, and an honorary member of seven European Cardiac Societies.
